Christians suffer as much as people who practice other religions. 31% of the world’s population are Christians. We could use this number to promote global issues that can make our world a better place. But, what are these global issues?
Sadly, Christians are the most discriminated and persecuted denomination of all the religions in the world. You can see countless news about Christian women being raped, or Christian men being abducted because of their faith.
Even with our technological advancement, Christians are no different from Christians during the Roman empire. The only difference is that the manner of persecution has evolved. Persecution and discrimination are not as brutal as during the Roman empire regime.
Anyways, Christians around the world must collaborate to promote religious freedom. We should bring and increase awareness among our brothers and sisters.
Christians might be the largest in terms of numbers, but who among these people can understand the Bible? Unfortunately, Biblical illiteracy is rampant among our brothers and sisters in faith. Knowing how to read the Bible is different from knowing what is written on it.
When we talk about Bible illiteracy, we are referring to the difficulty of our Christian believers to understand the truth. Some believers are still confused as to why they believe in Christ, as to why they profess the Christian faith. This stems from the fact that these believers don’t really “read” and learn the Gospel.
It’s saddening to hear about warring nations like the Middle East, Sudan, Africa, Iran, Iraq, and other places. Although these countries allow the Holy War to happen in their jurisdiction, we must remain vigilant in promoting peace all over the world.
Remember, a percentage of the population in these warring areas are Christians. Thus, they are also suffering from the effects of war. For now, we can pray for enlightenment for our brothers and sisters who prefer to settle things with war. We should ask for strength for those who suffer.
Eliminate Poverty and Exploitation People
We know, we can never eliminate poverty and exploitation of people. As long as people make the wrong decisions, other people will always suffer the consequences of these decisions. However, we can do something in decreasing the occurrence of exploitation and poverty by educating people. We can collaborate with other organizations whose objective is to reduce the rate of marginal poverty.
As Christians, we have to achieve a society that is free from exploitation and poverty. It’s not an easy task, but with God’s help, we can make it possible.
Minimize Global Corruption
Whether you live in a third world or a developed country, corruption is present. It’s a global issue. Examples of corruption are tax evasion, bribery, and lack of transparency. Often, the result of corruption is poverty. We may not be able to eliminate global corruption, but our collaboration with others could help minimize this epidemic.
Healthy and Happy Relationship in Families
Despite the awareness being raised among the congregation about healthy marriages, divorce rates are rising. Absentee fathers are increasing in numbers. Every member of a family should know that a happy and healthy relationship is the foundation of a Christian family. We should promote this among our members and co-believers.
Most importantly, we should pray for the success of this collaboration with other organizations and Christian believers. We should commit our objectives to God, so we can promote these global issues to bring lasting peace to our brethren in Christ.
